We are excited to host a Youth Program Coaching Assistant Training session for all individuals interested in supporting and strengthening our youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo programs. This training is an opportunity to learn what it truly means to be part of our coaching team and to help shape a positive, safe, and high-quality learning environment for our students.
Who This Program Is For
This program is open to:
Adult members currently training at Fifty/50
Parents or guardians of children enrolled in our youth program
Teens, aged13+, who are currently training or have previously trained at Fifty/50
No prior coaching experience is required—just a genuine interest in helping kids learn, grow, and succeed through martial arts and a willingness to learn from our experienced coaches in how you can assist during class.
What We’ll Cover
Led by Coach and Co-Founder Jen Hall, this training will provide a comprehensive introduction to the role of a coaching assistant at Fifty/50, including:
The responsibilities and expectations of a coaching assistant
Best practices for working with youth in BJJ and Judo settings
The Fifty/50 coaching ethos and values
How to assist lead coaches during class
Managing groups by age, skill level, and experience
Supporting students during drills, positional work, and live training
Effective communication with students and coaches
Physical, intellectual, emotional, and technical expectations for each age group
This session will include discussion, real-world examples, and practical guidance drawn directly from how our youth program operates day to day.
What Is a Coaching Assistant?
Coaching assistants are an essential part of our youth program. They allow us to:
Break students into smaller groups by age and skill level
Provide more individualized attention and instruction
Help students build confidence, focus, and technical skill
We are looking for individuals who are:
Patient and dependable
Strong communicators
Quick learners who can follow instruction
Positive role models for children and teens
Comfortable working as part of a team

Compensation may range from:
